MODERN GREEK ART MUSEUM
Two new exhibitions adorn the rooms of the Modern
Greek Art Museum in Rhodes. A permanent at
Nestoridio Melathro with 71 works of the renowned
Greek painter Dimitris Koukos, characterized by
impressionistic elements, the essential role of
the light and the lyric ambient. The periodical
exhibition of artistic photography (till 17/8) at
the Center of Modern Art (Palaio Syssitio) entitled
“The Last Judgment” presents works of Smara
Agiakatsika with themes considering the nature
of the allegory of life. Δύο νέες εκθέσεις κοσμούν
τους χώρους του Μουσείου Νεοελληνικής Τέχνης
στη Ρόδο. Μια μόνιμη στο Νεστορίδειο Μέλαθρο,
με 71 έργα του καταξιωμένου Έλληνα ζωγράφου
Δημήτρη Κούκου, που χαρακτηρίζονται από τα
ιμπρεσιονιστικά στοιχεία, τον κυρίαρχο ρόλο του
φωτός και τη λυρική ατμόσφαιρα. Η περιοδική
έκθεση εικαστικής φωτογραφίας (ως 17/8), στην
Πινακοθήκη Σύγχρονης Τέχνης (Παλαιό Συσσίτιο),
«Τελευταία κρίση», παρουσιάζει έργα
της Σμάρας Αγιακάτσικα, με θέματα
που πραγματεύονται τη φύση της

MEDITERRANEAN
SEA
Inspired by the symbolic position of
the exhibition area and mostly by
the view of the Mediterranean which
one sees from its window, this year’s
exhibition at Art Space Pythagorion
examines the impact of human
activity and interests on the fragile
equilibrium of the ecosystem and
the geopolitical issues of the seas
and their repercussions, in the light
of Samos and the Mediterranean.
